Ideas for the Mambu Banking Engine

Import and Export of Configuration Information

Allow importing and exporting of Mambu setting via APIs

  • loan and deposit product settings
  • custom field settings
  • custom views
  • internal controls
  • holidays
  • communication & document templates

Allowing importing and exporting would allow for "Configuration as Code" whereby changes are managed via version controlled files and allow organizations to ensure that something they set up in the sandbox environment can be perfectly replicated in the product environment when they want to go live with those changes.

Definitely need this at Ferratum.  It's not just for convenience but also to avoid errors in naming that will screw up our middleware which relies on the same naming conventions everywhere.

As a first-time Mambu implementation customer, I'd suggest that this would make for a much higher quality and higher confidence Day-1 outcome.  In an implementation with many custom fields, and custom views that rely on the same, there's a high probability that we'll make one or more critical errors or omissions when manually transferring the tested Sandbox configuration to the production environment.  My ideal tooling leans toward an Excel / VBA implementation that's portable across Windows and Mac OSX, that would allow individual configuration items to be de-selected or modified in translation - since not every feature attempted in the Sandbox is intended for implementation in Production.

We also think this makes a huge deal of sense.  It would give ourselves confidence in promotion from Sandbox to production, AND an audit trail of this critical path step

We have now planned this feature for Near Term. I've added the tags to the implementation feature so you can now follow the progress and see more details on your MyMambu Roadmap.

If there's any more input from your side, please do send it over to us.

    Thank you!
